MUET Preparation And Tips

The only things I did was read up on how to do the summary section as I always find cutting down on words the tricky part. As a former debater and public speaker, I needed no preparation for the speaking section, but only took part actively in class discussions and since I'm quite a chatterbox (and 99% of the time I converse in English, so that helps.)

As for the writing section, once again I did not prepare or look out for 'hot' topics, but I am an avid reader, having started at the tender age of 3. I devour books, finishing an average of 2-3 novels/fiction pieces a week. That helped me build a tremendous vocabulary bank and also helped me with the subtle nuances of the English language, allowing me to add flair and flavour to my writing.

As for the objective section, I got a perfect score here (135/135, I think?) by simply being careful and using every minute I had to go over the questions.

MUET Tips

The only tips I have would be :

Read as much as you can, not just for the exam, but for your own enrichment and enjoyment. This is seriously the best way to prepare yourself for MUET, as it helps you understand the finer nuances of the language and the subtle meanings and slight but critical differences in the meanings of similar words.

Speak English as much as you can. I speak English all the time (and I mean ALL the time) and this has helped me to speak clearly and confidently. Even if you're weak in it, persist at it. There is no better way to better yourself in this area than by speaking the language.

Participate in the UNSW (University of New South Wales) International Competitions for Schools, English. It is an international competition that I participate in every year, and I find it extremely useful as they give you detailed descriptions of your mistakes, how proficient or accurate you are compared to the rest of the country, and how you rank amongst the students in your country.

I've been taking part in it for 3/4 years now, and every year I rank among the top 2% of the country, getting a Distinction. I find it to be very useful as it is MUCH TOUGHER than MUET, and is great help for your objective section, although it does focus on literature and 'deeper' pieces compared to MUET.

Get involved in English based activities. I was actively involved in public speaking and debating in my secondary school, and this helped to further refine and polish my English speaking skills (plus it helps with the counter arguments during the speaking test - quick rebuttals always save the day!). Also get involved in drama as this helps you think creatively and also to express all sorts of emotions/convince the audience etc.

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY AND ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHNS HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY .

Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins:

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's
lifetime.

3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

WHAT CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.

b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk, cancer cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes t o no urish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become purified and leads to more toxic buildup.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer ce lls to destroy the cancer cells.

14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-sence, Essiac,
anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the body's own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.

15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

Nareepol

or "buah" in Malay. It means women tree. It is amazing what God create the World in many forms
that amused human beings... You can see the real tree at Petchaboon province about almost 500 kms away from Bangkok.

Dialog Dua Hantu

Tersebutlah kisah dua orang hantu. Mereka ni baru bertemu lalu mereka pun berborakla untuk mengisi masa lapang kehidupan mereka sebagai hantu. Sepanjang perbualan mereka, Hantu B ni tak habis-habis menggigil. Lalu, Hantu A yang kehairanan ni pun bertanya,

"Apsal kau ni asyik menggigil je?"

"Oh..cara aku mati dulu teruk..aku mati dalam peti ais...sejuk!!" Jawab Hantu B sambil menggigil lagi.

"Ooo..kesian... aku dulu mati sebab heart attack." Kata Hantu A ramah.

"Kau memang sakit jantung kronik ye? Apsal ko tak gi buat operation? Kalau tak, sure kau tengah lepak-lepak ngan family kau sekarang."

Balas Hantu B."Dah,aku dah buat dah !In fact mase aku mati tu, aku in recovery. Panjang ceritanya..." jawab Hantu A sayu.

"Ceritala sikit..Sambil-sambil lepak nih.."

"Camni..Aku syak isteri aku main kayu tiga ngan aku. So this one day, aku ingat nak perangkap la isteri aku..Aku pura-pura gi keje tapi actually aku park keta aku kat simpang hujung umah aku je. Seperti yang aku syak, masuk sebuah keta kat carpark umah aku. Aku rilex dulu sebab nak carik mase sesuai tangkap diorang."

"So, ko dapatla tangkap diorang?" tanya Hantu B penuh minat.

"Tak. Aku cume jumpe isteri aku je kat dalam bilik. Yang aku heran, mase aku masuk umah tu, aku nampak ade kasut laki kat pintu umah aku. Aku tanye isteri aku tapi die takmo jawab. So aku pun lari-lari sekeliling umah aku nak carik jantan tuh. Abis sume bilik aku carik tapi takde pun.. Last-last, sebab aku penat sangat berlari carik jantan tuh, aku pun jatuh pengsan sebab heart attack. And aku tak sangka aku mati lak..." kata Hantu A mengakhiri ceritanya dengan kesedihan.

Hantu B terdiam mendengarkan cerita Hantu A. Selepas beberapa ketika, Hantu B berkata,

"Kenapa kau tak check kat dalam peti sejuk? Kalau kau check kat situ, sure kita berdua still hidup lagi

Seorang isteri ingin menghubungi suaminya, tetapi telefonnya tidak berkredit lalu menyuruh anak lelakinya menyampaikan mesej penting kepada si suami yang sedang bekerja di site.Selepas si anak membuat panggilan, si anak memberitahu ibunya seorang perempuan lain yang menjawab pesanan telefon. Walaupun sudah berkali-kali si anak menelefon, tetap perempuan itu juga yang menjawab.Si isteri pun dengan marahnya menunggu kepulangan suami dari kerja di depan pintu rumah. Sesampainya suami, si isteri membelasah habis-habisan si suami kerana perlakuan curangnya.Habis berkumpul jiran tetangga di depan rumah untuk melihat drama petang itu. Si isteri menyuruh anaknya memberitahu semua orang apa yang dikatakan oleh perempuan di talian tadi.
Si anak pun cakap "Harap maaf, nombor yang anda dail berada di luar kawasan liputan. Sila cuba sebentar lagi".

Kisah Remaja

3 Remaja Bermasalah

Di sebuah kampung ada 3 orang remaja yang suka lepak. Sorang tu nama dia Ali, sorang tu Budin dan sorang lagi Ciko. Aktiviti seharian depa ni menyebabkan tok imam tak senang duduk. Pada satu hari tok imam tu datang dengan niat nak tarbiyah depa ni.

Maka berlakulah beberapa insiden cabar-mencabar. Tok imam tu cabar si mangkuk 3 ekor tu ke surau waktu Maghrib nanti.

Si Ali pun berkata, "Tok imam ingat kami ni jahil sangat ke? Takpa, nanti kami buktikan yang kami bukan la jahil sangat seperti yang disangkakan" .

Maka apabila hampir masuk waktu Maghrib pegilah malaun 3 ekor tu ke surau.

Tok imam pun suruh Ali azan. Tanpa berlengah terus je Ali azan, "Allah Ta'ala... Allah Ta'ala...". Dengan segera tok imam merampas mikrofon daripada Ali dan menyuruh Tok Bilal azan semula. Terserlah kejahilan Ali.

Selepas iqamat, masa nak sembahyang tok imam pun mengangkat takbiratul ihram. Tok imam pun satu hal, angkat sekali tak khusyuk, angkat 2 kali pun tak khusyuk jugak lagi...

Masuk je kali ketiga, Budin panggil tok imam. "Tok,tok duduk kat belakang, biar saya jadi imam." Tok imam pun undur le ke belakang.

Budin pun angkat le takbiratul ihram. "Allahu akbar!" Maka para makmum pun ikut angkat takbiratul ihram & memulakan solat. Tiba-tiba je si Budin ni pusing ke belakang dan berkata, "Aaa, tengok! Sekali jee tokkkk!!" Lalu batallah solat Budin. Yang lain-lain pun ikut berenti sambil ketawa terbahak-bahak.

Tok imam pun mintak pulak si Ciko jadi imam. Si Ciko pun terus ke depan jadi imam solat tersebut bermula dari takbir sampai le habis sembahyang. Siap dengan wirid-wiridnya sekali. Punyalah respek tok imam kat si Ciko niii...

Lepas solat, tok imam pun puji-memuji leee si Ciko ni... Tapi dgn bongkaknye si Ciko berkata,

"He hee, itu belum ambil wuduk lagi tu.Kalau tak, lagi dahsyat aku sembahyang. He heee..."

Tok imam pun terkedu & terpana...

Cikgu Tadika

Ada seorang cikgu tadika yang tak percaya wujudnya Tuhan. Dia pun berfikir bagaimana hendak mempengaruhi kanak-kanak di tadika tersebut supaya tak percaya wujudnya Tuhan. Tiba-tiba, dia mendapat satu akal...

Guru tadika : Anak-anak, nampak tak pen ini?
Murid-murid : Nampak cikgu.
Guru tadika : Pen ada kan?
Murid-murid : Ada cikgu.

Kemudian guru tadika tadi memasukkan pen itu
ke dalam poket dia dan kemudian bertanya lagi..

Guru tadika : Anak-anak,nampak tak pen?
Murid-murid : tak nampak cikgu.
Guru tadika : pen ada tak?
Murid-murid : tak ada cikgu.
Guru tadika : Anak-anak nampak Tuhan tak?
Murid-murid : tak nampak cikgu.
Guru tadika : Tuhan ada tak?
Murid-murid : tak ada cikgu.

Guru tadika itu sangat gembira kerana tujuannya untuk mempengaruhi kanak-kanak itu berjaya. Tetapi.. dalam kumpulan kanak-kanak itu ada seorang budak yang pintar yang bernama Amin lalu dia pun mengangkat tangan...

Amin : Cikgu, boleh saya cakap sesuatu?
Guru tadika : Boleh,mari ke depan.
Amin : Kawan-kawan nampak cikgu tak?
Murid-murid : nampak.
Amin : cikgu ada kan?
Murid-murid : ada.
Amin : Kawan-kawan nampak otak cikgu tak?
